At a last minute pre-Christmas Board meeting, with myself and four board members present,
the JACC, has decided despite the low profit (under $3000.) that the
Truck raffle will go on!
It is such a huge part of the community that until the chamber actually loses money on it they will continue to host this fun filled event, with some slight modifications that are yet to be determined.
The next board meeting of the JACC is set for
Thursday January 15th at 6:30PM at the Stone Arch Inn.
Topics, include bicentennial events for the county , membership drive, the Journal deadlines, and salvaging the Luminary.
It is our membership month
PLEASE COME JOIN US. Our Hosts will be Tim and Andrea at the
Little Duck House on Thursday February 19th, 6:30PM
Tim and Andrea hope all will come and help unit our Chamber
and move forward so our community will prosper.
Join us,
bring a new member and have a chance to win the
door Prize

Sunday was a funday! The wonderful, newly rebuilt, Villa Roma was the beautiful back drop for this JACC fund raising holiday event. 410 people showed up and took a chance to see if luck was on their side, and it was!
Music by Albi and Darren set the mood for the afternoon.
The Villa Roma served up a feast full of appetizers and the party was off and running.
There were sixteen winners with Dave Weiss taking away the Grand Prize.
The 17th Annual JACC Truck Raffle was a joyous event and all were treated to an impromptu surprise, a performance of an Elvis impersonator.
The dance floor was packed and all who attended were indeed winners.
If you missed it this year don't make that mistake again!
Why is there a JACC Truck Raffle?...How did it come about?
Another Sullivan County Community was host to a similar party.
Kathy and Dick Herbert had attended the event and thought it was a great fund raiser .
Kathy felt it would be nice to have something like that in Jeffersonville,
The way I've heard the story someone told her Jeffersonville "couldn't do it "
and it seems that was all it really took to get Kathy Herbert determined to make this event
a Jeffersonville tradition.
17 years later IT IS truly a tradition!
WHAT GREAT IDEAS DO YOU HAVE ?
WE REALLY DO WANT TO HEAR THEM.
From My Blog chamber I am
Beth
Let me introduce myself, I am Elizabeth Ann Cecilia McCormack Bernitt owner of MANE STREET STYLES at Gypsy Corners and Associate Broker at Klimchok Real Estate, LLC....
aka Beth Bernitt
I am starting this blog as I believe we all want the same things.
I believe that it does "take a village to raise a child"
(even those who do not have children, are a key to this)
We all need each other and we all need our area to grow and prosper.
Often that will mean looking towards our neighbors,
nurturing our community and each other is the only way this can happen.
As a long time member of the Jeffersonville Area Chamber of Commerce,
I find the Chamber to be a great place to start pulling it all together.
Consider this your invitation, to come to a meeting, join a committee,
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD, THIS IS YOUR CHAMBER, you can help guide this community.
Reach out and let's make it together.
